Support Our Veterans
We must provide essential services to our veterans and military families to ensure that they have every opportunity they need to succeed at home. In Ohio, veterans make up over 9 percent of our population, and Ohio is home to one of the largest military installations in the country. Through my long-standing work with the Military Health System and as a veteran’s wife, I have seen firsthand the sacrifices our military and their families make day after day for our country. I have also seen the struggles veterans have upon returning home and trying to create a life for themselves after they serve.
I will work to allocate proper state resources for creating stable jobs for veterans and military spouses that utilize their unique skills. I also believe it is our duty to lift our many veterans out of poverty and homelessness. Ohio must also address the rising mental health and addiction treatment needs of many veterans returning home from combat by ensuring that these men and women have access to the best physicians and treatments throughout the state.
