“Thank you Pres. Barack Obama for the endorsement of our campaign,” said Allison Russo, candidate for State Representative in Ohio’s 24th District. “I’m proud to continue the fight for affordable and accessible healthcare for all Ohioans!”

Pres. Obama shared his endorsement on Twitter this afternoon, writing,

“Today I’m proud to endorse such a wide and impressive array of Democratic candidates – leaders as diverse, patriotic, and big-hearted as the America they’re running to represent. I’m confident that, together, they’ll strengthen this country we love by restoring opportunity, repairing our alliances and standing in the world, and upholding our fundamental commitment to justice, fairness, responsibility, and the rule of law. But first, they need our votes.”

Allison has spent two decades advising government leaders and policymakers on the healthcare needs of seniors, vulnerable populations, Veterans, and military families. She will fight to adequately fund our public schools, support economic strategies that sustain working families & vibrant communities, and find innovative solutions in healthcare that increase access and affordability for all Ohioans.

Allison Russo’s campaign for State Representative in Ohio’s 24th District has been endorsed by EMILY’s List! “This organization shares my vision of government that reflects the people it serves and elected leaders who genuinely and enthusiastically fight for greater opportunity and better lives for the people they represent,” Allison Russo shared. “I am honored to have their support.”

EMILY’s List works for larger leadership roles for women in federal and state legislative bodies and executive seats so that our families can benefit from the open-minded, productive contributions that women have consistently made in office.

Allison Russo is running for State Representative with the understanding that when women and families have the resources and rights they need to thrive, entire communities benefit. 51 percent of Ohio’s residents are women, but you’d never know that looking at the General Assembly’s roster. Both major parties talk up equity between women and men, but the Statehouse has yet to see it. Of the Ohio General Assembly’s 132 members, only 22 percent are women.
